Vaginal ozone insufflation is a therapeutic method used to support conditions affecting the female reproductive system, including vaginal, uterine, ovarian, and lower abdominal concerns. It may be used as supportive care for conditions such as thrush, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, fibroids, and other inflammatory or infectious imbalances. The procedure involves the gentle insertion of a small catheter, approximately the width of a pencil, into the vagina to a level that is comfortable for the client. For discretion and comfort, the catheter is inserted by the client herself, after which a certified nurse administers ozone gas through the attached tubing at a slow, controlled flow rate of 10 to 25 ml. The treatment is completely painless and well tolerated, and the process is repeated until the desired volume is achieved, typically around 250 ml or more, allowing ozone to support both local and systemic wellness.
